Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between juvenile delinquency, cyber delinquency,
and mental health among adolescents.
Methods: Data were obtained from the 5th wave of the Korea Adolescence Welfare Panel Survey 2014. The subjects were 2,051 high school students.
Results: Significant differences in gender and school type were found for offenders of both juvenile and cyber delinquency, while juvenile offenders also showed a significant difference in school characteristics. Significant correlations were also found between offenders of juvenile delinquency and victims of juvenile and cyber delinquency.
Conclusion: Based on the study findings, self-esteem, life satisfaction, and peer attachment should be taken into consideration in prevention and management programs for juvenile delinquency and cyber delinquency in schools.
